Y’all, the more I learn about business, the more I want to share and help people succeed online. Honestly, as a creative, it’s often more satisfying to work on other people’s businesses than my own! 🙃 But today, I had a revelation.
I was listening to Myron Golden, and he was talking about how in his book, he helps people go from making $10K a month to even higher levels of success. And I’m over here thinking, "Hold up, I’m just trying to get to that first $10K!" Anyone else feel me on that? 😂
For those of you asking the same questions—where do I start? How do I get testimonials? How do I get people to know, like, and trust me?—let me share what I’ve learned.
Trust has been a huge topic in the Facebook groups I’m in lately, and it’s so important for growing your business. But here’s what clicked for me: the best way to build trust is to simply show people how you can help them… by actually helping them! It seems so obvious now, but I used to hesitate because, let’s be real, the “do it for free” part can be a little uncomfortable. 😬
Here’s What I Did to Grow My Business Intentionally
I found people in my niche who I really wanted to work with.
I designed for free—yup, freeeeeeee!
I reached out and gifted them the design.
I showed them I genuinely cared about their success, no strings attached.
And you know what happened? They gave me testimonials! Not only did they thank me publicly, but they also mentioned my work, which led to me booking a paid project. 💰
Why It Worked
It worked because I was intentional. I wasn’t spamming anyone or just pushing my services on people. I focused on building relationships, showing that I was invested in their success, and adding real value.
And now, both my network and my net worth are growing! 🎉 I’m even designing a way to have this whole process run on autopilot on my page while I sleep!
Key Takeaway: Start by serving. Don’t be afraid to give away your time or skills in the beginning, because when done intentionally, it leads to testimonials, trust, and paid work down the road. Your efforts will pay off in more ways than one!
